| 説明 | Native warm-season perennial loosely tufted C4 grass; stems grow to 100 cm tall. Leaves are hairless or hairy underneath. Flowerheads are open panicles; 20-45 cm long, 7-25 cm wide and with thickened branches. Spikelets are 6–13 mm long, to 2.5 mm wide, 8-19-flowered, leaden-green and flattened; glumes are 1.5–2 mm long and often red; lemmas are 2–2.5 mm long; grains are concave, nearly truncate and almost rounded; there is no ring of yellow glands below each spikelet unlike E. leptostachya. Mostly found on clays and loams in eucalypt forests, woodlands and native pastures; also on sandy soils, stony ridges and on roadsides and in railway enclosures. More common in the northern half of NSW. Native biodiversity. Decreases under improved fertility. Produces relatively low amounts of leafy palatable feed. Decreases under stock grazing; best production and persistence is achieved under light stocking rates and/or when given adequate rests from grazing. |
