| 説明 | I often feel I've been a guest in a very enlightened and warm country. I often bend the ear of nearly anybody with anecdotes to that effect.One glaring exception to this otherwise good record is what you see above. Although extreme courtesy is the order of the day when sharing a fairly crowded public space--it is not uncommon to see middle-aged men casually browsing porn in the same public spaces. Most often it is not porn per se, but male-oriented literature featuring bits of naughtiness. This relaxed attitude about such materials is a raspberry seed in the tooth of foreigners and local denizens alike. Pointed stares, icy glares, huffing, scowling--nothing gets you more than a, "...what?" I dunno, call me ol' fashioned--but there is a time and a place for everything. And yes, even a time and a place for um, this kind of thing--but in public with children around? With folks who might not exactly be in the mood for quite so much porn on the train. So, there are two lists: What they do right (filled with great stuff), and What they do wrong (quite a few things, actually.) |
