説明 | I thought I would create a picture with PicsArt of a picture that I took back in April. The picture of a "grabbing flame" turned out to be perfect for Color The World Orange Day, which is today. I have had CRPS/RSD for 25 years now. Its in both hands, arms, shoulders and upper back. Sometimes its a lot to deal with. And most of the time CRPS/RSD patients try to hide how much this disease affects our life. Its hard to describe something that even some doctors cant describe. I gave a little more information about CRPS/RSD in the description area of another photo that I posted on 7-4-14 in the album "Photos With A Story" called "C.R.(a)P.S".The month of November is National CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) Awareness Month and November 2, 2015 is "Color The World Orange Day". Orange was chosen as the color to represent the "fire-like burning pain" that CRPS causes. CRPS is also known as RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy). It is a chronic pain disease that is characterized by a fire-like burning pain that usually affects a limb but can spread throughout the body. NORD (National Organization for Rare Diseases) has officially designated CRPS as a RARE disease. There are fewer than 200,000 patients with CRPS/RSD in the United States. The McGill Pain Index, a chart that is used by hospitals and doctors worldwide to measure chronic pain, has listed CRPS/RSD as the most painful form of chronic pain that exists. That means that it is above the amputation of a digit, unprepared childbirth, chronic back pain, non-terminal cancer and a fracture (listed in decreasing order). There are still doctors and nurses that do not know what CRPS/RSD is. Thats where National CRPS Awareness Month comes in. To get the word out. So here it is......WORD!!*For more information about CRPS/RSD, please visit a great website called www.rsdhope.com. It offers an abundance of information. You can also visit rarediseases.org . |
