説明 | CAMP ZAMA, Japan - Scores of Soldiers, family members and Department of Defense civilians from the Camp Zama community donned decorative costumes for the second annual SHA Loop Run Oct. 31, 2015. The 1.9 mile race featured a colorful cast of characters ranging from superheroes and video game characters to reptiles and breakfast menu items. Phillip Curiel with the U.S. Army Medical Department (Japan) took home first place after crossing the finishing line in 9 minutes, 37 seconds. Army Spc. Sean Peters (who, whether by design or coincidence, wore red and yellow costume made famous by DC Comics' "The Flash"), an intelligence analyst with the 441st Military Intelligence Battalion, came in second place at 10:22. Dressed as a Jedi Knight and wielding a plastic light saber, Army 2nd Lt. Cody Hartmann, executive officer, 441st MI Battalion, followed close behind Peters with a third place finish time of 10:31. Army spouse Yoko Stephens was the first woman to cross the finish line at 11:52. Camp Zama's Community Bank sponsorship ensured the winners received their well-deserved trophies. The 441st MI BN also accrued more than 50 points toward U.S. Army Japan's annual Commanders' Cup challenge. Photo by Army Sgt. John L. Carkeet IV, U.S. Army Japan |
