| 説明 | SAN DIEGO (October 30, 2015) Junior officers on board USS Cape St. George (CG 71) participate in a brief by the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC), to learn about the new career opportunities it provides junior surface warfare officers. Modeled after the success of the Navy Strike and Air Warfare Center (Top Gun), SMWDC is increasing the tactical proficiency of the surface warfare community by plucking a select cadre of SWOs to become specialized warfighters called Warfare Tactics Instructors (WTI). SMWDC was formally established June 2015 and is responsible for increasing the tactical readiness of individual surface warfare communities through the creation of warfare doctrine, underway assessment exercises and WTIs.
