| 説明 | I had written off this formerly weed-choked lot, just west of Walgreen's at that intersection, as just another Chicago brownfield, doomed to be vacant for all time. This was formerly the location of a Chicken Unlimited, a KFC-esque chain of fast-food restaurants that expanded too quickly in the early-to-mid seventies and crashed and burned during the mid-seventies recession. (You can still see old CU buildings, all built to the same architectural plan, repurposed to other uses.)Dunkin' Donuts must have seen either an existing or emerging market. Seems like they would have more business from people going to and leaving the Red Line if they had built a block-and-a-half away, on the vacant lot at the northwest corner of 47th and Princeton, but hey, I assume they've done their research. |
