説明CAMP ZAMA, Japan - The Headquarters & Headquarters Company, U.S. Army Japan (USARJ), welcomed two young Soldiers to the junior leader ranks during a promotion ceremony held Sept. 1, 2015, in Camp Zama, Japan.Dozens of Soldiers, family members and Department of the Army civilians gathered around the foyer inside USARJ's headquarters building to witness Army Spc. Lucas A. Patron, a wheeled vehicle mechanic assigned to HHC, don specialist (E4) insignia and Army Sgt. Christopher A. Runyan, a training noncommissioned officer also assigned to HHC, replace his specialist shield with sergeant stripes. Patron, a native of Oak Creek, Wisc, enlisted in the Army in 2013 and was assigned to USARJ immediately after graduating from Advanced Individual Training in Ft. Jackson, S.C. Patron plans to make sergeant before he concludes his tour in the Land of the Rising Sun. He also anticipates that his fast track career path will lead him to joining the ranks of one of world's finest class of frontline warriors: the U.S. Army Infantryman.Runyan, a native of Athens, Ohio, has served in the Army for more than five years. Although trained initially as a field artillery automated tactical data systems specialist, Runyan quickly acclimated and later excelled in his current position as one of the company's training NCOs. Runyan is currently pursuing an associate's degree in human resources while preparing to welcome his wife and children to Japan after a year-long separation. Story and photo by Sgt. John L.
