説明 | Looking from the foot of Aldourie Brae, just above the village of Dores. These shots were taken from Aldourie Brae, just above Dores Bay at the top end of Loch Ness (on east side) looking down the Loch as the sun fades and the skies are full of rain clouds. These views would not have changed much in a century or more.Loch Ness, though not the longest or widest or deepest inland body of water in Scotland is the largest in the UK in terms of water volume, and holds more water than of all the lakes of england and Wales combined.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loch_NessIt is also the most beaultiful - albeit that is my personal opinion!!Loch Ness is part of the Great Glen fault, which splits the Scottish mainland in two, and is part of the Caledonian Canal system (opened 1822) which enables vessels to go from east to west coast without having to negotiate the Pentland Firth around the top of Scotland. |
