| 説明 | Against the north wall of the chancel in the parish church at Bag Enderby, a village in the Lincolnshire Wolds, is an interesting Elizabethan tablet memorial depicting Andrew Gedney as a knight in armour, his wife Dorithe, and his sons Richard & John & daughters Mary & Katherine kneeling at prayer. Above them appears a shield with the arms of Enderby and the Gedney & Skipworth (his wife maiden name) families. Perhaps Andrew Gedney's main claim to fame apart from being the local landowner was that he held The Ancient office of Sheriff of the County of Lincoln in 1574. |
