説明 | "The AH-64A "Apache" is a twin-engine attack helicopter built by Hughes Aircraft Company. The "Apache" is designed as an offensively capable attack helicopter for anti-armor operations in day, night and adverse conditions."On December 10, 1976 the U.S. Army selected the Hughes design and awarded a contract to begin production in 1977."The AH-64A has a four-bladed stainless steel, fully articulated main rotor and a four-bladed tail rotor with blades at 60/120 degree angle to each other for maximum quieting. Avionics include a Martin-Marietta Target Acquisition System/Pilots Night Vision System which uses specialized optics, forward looking infrared television, and laser designation tracking and range finding system. "The main armament includes a 30mm chain gun capable of being aimed through the pilot's helmet system. The gun points in the direction the pilot is looking. The stub wings are equipped for mounting a variety of rocket and missile ordnance. This helicopter is the second prototype developed. It was flown in the T tail configuration which has the horizontal stabilizer mounted at the bottom of the tail fin and the anti-torque mounted near the top. "The AH-64A fielded today is one of the most sophisticated combat rotor wing aircraft to be produced."from placard at the Army Aviation Museum |
