| 説明 | Funeral Monument of Pope Benedict XIII Orsini (1734-39). The Pope (d. 1730) is buried inside the majestic funeral monument designed by Carlo Marchionni (1702-1786) and executed by Pietro Bracci (1700-1773) and helpers. On the sides are the figures of Humility by Bartolomeo Pincellotti (d. 1740), and Religion, also by Bracci. Carlo Marchionni created the sarcophagus portraying the Roman Council presided over by Benedict XIII.The Chapel of St. Dominic, Santa Maria sopra Minerva, Rome. |
