| 説明 | On April 23, 2015 as part of the national “Let’s Move Outside!” campaign, the BLM Nevada Carson City District and The Nature Conservancy hosted an outdoor environmental education event for approximately 200 Washoe County and Lyon County School District youth.This community environmental education program focused on teaching local school children about their environment and explored the concepts of ecosystems, habitats, and the Truckee River. In the week leading up to the McCarran Ranch visit, an activity book was distributed to all students so they could begin to learn about these topics. On the day of the event, the school children were rotated through several hands-on activities to learn about wetland habitats and wildlife, river meander/ restoration, and native plant re-vegetation.
