説明 | Sutton Forest. Early buildings include the site of the 1833 Talbot Inn replaced with a new hotel in the 1930s; the original wooden Anglican church from 1845 which was replaced with a stone one in 1861- designed by Edmund Blacket; the Catholic Church built 1879 replacing an earlier Catholic school room(1856) which was also used as a place of worship; the state school room 1871; the old Post Office 188; and the village hall 1890. Hillview house on the highway was for many years the summer residence of the Governor from 1882 until it was sold in 1958. |
