| 説明 | If you were a black high schooler on the south side before 1934, you went to Wendell Phillips H.S. or, possibly, Dunbar. They had just started letting blacks into Englewood High in the early 30's, but DuSable was the first high school built to handle the south side's exploding black population.Its music program, led by the legendary Walter Dyett, spawned such talents as Nat King Cole and Dinah Washington.
