| 説明 | Mirror Pool is a slightly elongated, moderately large hot spring in the Old Road Group of Yellowstone's Upper Geyser Basin. The longest dimensions of the pool are ~21.5 meters by ~15.5 meters. This feature does not erupt as a geyser but does overflow. Runoff drains to the north-northwest in a channel colored by extremophile microbes. Distal distributary runoff channels drain to the north-northwest and also west.Hot springs having bluish, clear water are hot to very hot. The coloration is from abundant, extremely tiny, suspended particles of colloidal silica (SiO2).In 1999, researchers measured Mirror Pool's water at 80 degrees Celsius, with a pH of about 8. |
