| 説明 | The third event in the ‘Power of Empowered Women’ series focused on women’s leadership in peace and security. Ambassador Pamela Hamamoto and Michael Møller, Director General of the U.N. Office at Geneva, opened the event with the announcement of a new leadership network: International Geneva Gender Champions. The joint UN Geneva Future She Deserves initiative will bring together committed leaders to serve as International Geneva Gender Champions for gender equality.The 2015 Power of Empowered Women panelists included: Valerie Amos, Former Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs; Teresita Quintos Deles, first woman to be appointed as the Presidential Adviser for the Peace Process in the Philippines in 2003; Major General Kristin Lund, Force Commander of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP); Elisabeth Rehn, Member of the Board of Directors of the ICC Trust Fund for Victims in the Hague; Mary Robinson, Former President of Ireland and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights; Dr. Paul Williams, Rebecca Grazier Professor of Law and International Relations at American University.
