| 説明 | Snubfin DolphinDo we need another gas-huband another plume of dredge,an extra lane for shippingas she teeters on the edgeand stares down at extinctionas the Reef is getting sickwhile the corporation bastardsfeel their wallets growing thick?Do you need another dollar?Do you need more gas to makeour planet even warmer?Is there more that you can take?When the sea grass is all witheredand the shipping channel’s wideand the dolphin and the dugonghave nowhere left to hide,and the only snubfin livingis imprisoned in a tank,will you still be gloatingat the balance in your bank?Do you really love your moneyso much that you can’t seeyour lust for dirty profitsjustifies a killing-spreeas deadly as harpooning,and all for short-term gains?I think you hate the oceanand all that it contains.But I’ll watch the snubfin archingin the shallows, chasing fish;as she spits her spray of water,I’ll pause and make my wish:may your coal-mines lie deserted,may your corporations beall disgraced and bankrupt –and the snubfins own the sea.Poem by Giles Watson, 2015. |
