説明 | CAMP ZAMA, Japan - During an Army promotion ceremony, the soldier earning the extra chevron or rocker often chooses the person who will affix the new rank on his or her uniform. Some newly promoted soldiers spend days mulling over whether a fellow service member or loyal loved one should fill this prestigious role . For Army Master Sgt. Chasitie S. Lee, the choice was clear: her husband and battle buddy would do the honors. Lee stood at attention as her husband, Army Sgt. 1st Class Jewel R. Lee, tore off her sergeant first class rank and replaced it with that of a master sergeant during a promotion ceremony held June 5, 2015, at Camp Zama, Japan. "First of all, I thank my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, for showing me that all things are possible," said Lee, a native of Enterprise, Ala. "I also wouldn't be here today without the unwavering support from my command and the unconditional love for my husband ... Thank you for being by my side."A native of Enterprise, Ala., Lee serves as an equal opportunity advisor for Headquarters & Headquarters Company, U.S. Army Japan, while her husband supervises maintenance operations for the same company. The couple plan to continue their Army careers as they prepare to transition to new assignments at Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif. Meanwhile, the Lee family will remain immersed in their current duties as they joke between themselves that the Army has dictated who officially gives orders in this relationship."That would be our daughter," said Lee with a grin.
