| 説明 | This site's unusual in that there's still a good deal of evidence of the town that surrounded the castle. This is visible in the form of foundations, and old street layouts. Many of the field walls of the farm that currently occupy the site are made from cut stone, presumably from the town.Most of the time, there is little sign of the old towns and villages that surround old castles (unless, of course, the town has prospered to the present day). I'm guessing that the one at Carbury Castle was fairly well-off. |
