| 説明 | At Riversley Park in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. It is just outside the ringway, bound by Coton Road and Vicarage Street.Riversley ParkEdward Melly, one of Nuneaton's notable historical figures, gave the land for Riversley Park (named after his own home in Liverpool), complete with the bandstand and museum, to the much delighted council in 1807. It was by sheer coincidence that the council happened to be looking for an open space at the time. Boer War Memorial StatueThe statue depicts an infantryman wearing a British Army uniform worn in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902. In 2006 the original statue was stolen.The new statue has been moved here situated opposite the museum, this new statue was opened to the public on the 26/10/08. The sculptor of the new statue was Alan Beattie Herriot. |
