| 説明 | Wings of the North held a Pancake Breakfast a few weeks ago to show off their new museum hangar. The star of the show and the centerpiece of the new museum is a P-51D Mustang named Sierra Sue II. I’ve known this Mustang for a long time. She used to be hangared at the old Planes of Fame East Air Museum in Eden Prairie, MN back when I was a volunteer there 15 years ago. She belonged to a man named Dr. Roger Christgau, who bought her in 1977. He had her restored to her wartime configuration and flew her all over the Midwest until he was too old to fly anymore. When POFE closed, Doc moved her down to a hangar in Austin, MN. In 2011, Doc sold her to a man named Paul Ehlen, who sent her to Aircorps Aviation in Bemidji, MN. The goal was to put her back into the shape she would have been in when she was delivered to Belgium in 1944. The restoration took over three years and the results are stunning.
