| 説明 | Mary-Dell Chilton meets with Agriculture Deputy Secretary Krysta Harden at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Chilton is known as one of the founders of plant biotechnology and has dedicated her career to science, both in the lab and teaching at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Chilton currently works for Syngenta as a Distinguished Science Fellow conducting research in their lab facilities in North Carolina. A pioneer for women in science and technology, Chilton has been awarded multiple honorary doctorates, the Presidential Award from the Crop Science Society, the 2013 World Food Prize and, most recently, was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
