説明 | "John Moore, dealer in books and stationery, Ann Arbor, was born in Berkshire county, Mass., in 1824. He received a liberal education, and at the age of 18 removed to Genesee county, N. Y., where he was engaged in agricultural pursuits for about eight years. While a resident of this latter place he married Emily Calkins, and 6 children have been born to them. Mr. Moore is an elder in the Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor. About 1868 he embarked in his present business, and so far has been quite successful."-- Biography in the 1881 History of Washtenaw County, MichiganThe Gregory Block stood directly across Main Street from the Washtenaw County courthouse. The upper floors of the building were occupied by a hotel called the Gregory House.
