| 説明 | Alpaca Shearing - The alpacas are sheared every spring and I was fortunate to come across this one at Kuhn's River Country Alpacas in Beach Lake, PA.. The shearers come to the farm and each animals "blanket", which is the primary fiber taken from the main trunk, is bagged separately and labeled with the name of the alpaca and date. The "seconds" are mixed together. The fiber will be processed by Worthington Acres Alpacas Farm and Fiber Mill. The alpacas sheared today provide approximately 5 lbs. of fiber each. It was very interesting to witness how careful the shearers were and how calmly the alpacas submitted to the whole process. |
