| 説明 | There is a Karmapa controversy. Two were named, but supposedly only one can be the Karmapa. I have no idea about this.... who is right or who is wrong. But I can tell you that this Karmapa had a nice, calm presence and was very kind. (And just in case anyone was interested, here is a link to the other Karmapa.)My parents' friend was dying of brain cancer. The Karmapa's people told him about it and the Karmapa came to the house where the man was convelescing. The man had been "out of it" for several days... slipping in and out of consciousness. But when the Karmapa and the other monks came in to sit with him he immediately became alert and his once dull eyes shone awake and aware. And there was a sense of calmness and a sense of peace.That story still touches me very much. To think that a spiritual man of this importance would stop by the dying man's house.... it's really quite something. Likewise, the fact that this every day guy from Los Osos would have the good fortune of the Karmapa to come to his house.... Well, there's some karma in action. |
