| 説明 | Working on the nest together is part of the mating rituals for great blue herons. The male heron gets sticks and brings them to the nest. He ritualistically presents the female with the stick, and she places it where she wants it in the nest. This male heron flew several loops around the rookery with this stick before landing at the nest. He appeared to want to show how competent he was at getting sticks. This is at the heron rookery at Metzger Farm Open Space in Westminster and Broomfield, Colorado.
