| 説明 | c/n 12596.Full serial ‘6885’.Operated by sqn, South African Air Force.Built 1944 for the USAAC as ’42-92760’. Immediately transferred to the RAF as ‘KG484’ and two months later joined the South African Air Force as ‘6835’.Demobbed in 1955, it became ‘ZS-DJX’ and remained as such until rejoining the SAAF as ‘6885’.Converted into a Turbo Dakota, it is now operated in the maritime patrol role by 35sqn and is based at Ysterplaat AFB, Cape Town. Seen on static display at the 2014 AAD (African Aerospace & Defence) airshow, held at Waterkloof AFB, South Africa.20-9-2014 |
