Immediately transferred to the RAF as ‘FZ572’ and then straight on to the South African Air Force as ‘6821’.In 1948 it joined South African Airways as ZS-BXF and remained in civil hands until rejoining the SAAF in 1971, renumbered as ‘6888’.Demobbed again in 1991, it is now operated on charter work by the South African Airways Historic Flight.Seen at the 2014 AAD (African Aerospace & Defence) airshow, held at Waterkloof AFB, South Africa.20-9-2014 |
