説明 | While the Assemble Borg designs drew mainly upon Henshin Cyborg and Microman, the Assemble Borg Nexus Armoroid figure is Toytribe's homage to Android A, the Takara SF Land series that succeeded Henshin Cyborg in late 1974. (The Android A Robot variant, with its peculiar head design and chunky mechanical legs, seems to be the main inspiration.)This explains one otherwise out of place feature on Armoroid: the clear dark plastic piece on the chest. It's there mainly to evoke the opening doors and hidden missile launchers on Android A's chest. Toytribe not only designed Armoroid's chest piece to be removable but included dark grey gun barrel parts which could be attached to the Revoltech ports hidden behind that piece. It's a little strange Takara's rich Takara SF Land legacy is best appreciated in offerings by companies other than Takara Tomy. Kaiyodo has Assemble Borg and the Revoltech joint system (which is arguably the natural evolution of Takara's 5mm system). Then you have Takara-inspired figures from unexpected sources. No one could have expected the best tributes to Microman during the influential line's 40th anniversary would be coming from companies like Sentinel and 3A. |
