Red boxes mark the arrangement of columns in the Giant's Causeway. Four green lines mark flat sides and right angles. There is no mechanism for material to naturally form such morphology. They are artificial stones (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_stone) made from a kind of concrete 50 million years ago. Added on June 29, 2015: The columns may have been held together by artificial cement. "Many of the columns (in the Giant's Causeway) fit together so closely that it is impossible to insert a knife blade between them. When viewed from above, the causeway looks like a man made street."
