説明 | The United States hosted a side event on The Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) and Ebola during the Meeting of States Parties to the Biological Weapons Convention. Speakers described how the GHSA is being used to respond to the Ebola crises as well as build sustainable capacity and preparedness in the region. The Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) is the collective effort of over forty nations to strengthen international capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to infectious disease outbreaks irrespective of their cause. Building these capabilities around the world will reduce the impact of disease, strengthen economic development, prepare communities and nations for sudden emergencies, and contribute to the goals of the International Health Regulations, the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention, and other international undertakings.
