| 説明 | Waiting for Mr Brook... sipping an enormous latte, reading the papers, twittering like an eijit, watching the wildlife, and reflecting on a weekend with the folks... It occured to me that I once headlined at a club that used to be the third door down on that sidestreet. I can't for the life of me remember what it was called! I remember the PA system was absolutely terrible (which anyone who plays live will tell you is often the case!). I remember my gorgeous friend Beckie had come along to that gig. I'd just written one of my then favourite songs about/for her, and had left it 'til towards 3/4s of the way through my set list that night. Unfortunately, she missed most of it, as she was in the ladies!! I might have been able to leave it 'til later, if I'd only known. Oh well... Might have to find some ancient photos of her to upload now... Thinking about it, I think the venue used to be called The Acoustic Cafe. Seriously moody barman/manager back then, too! However, I think it was my first paid gig, so it's an important place for me. I think I cleared £50/60 from my cut of the door's takings, so was quite chuffed! |
