| 説明 | Don't know Bobby Franks? You surely have heard of Richard Loeb and Nathan Leopold, who kidnapped and murdered 14-year old Franks and dumped his body near Lake Calumet. They had nothing against Franks personally; he was a cousin of Loeb. It was a thrill killing for them -- the "perfect murder", which was tripped up when police found a pair of glasses at the crime scene which turned out to belong to Loeb, and later found the stolen typewriter on which the men had typed a ransom note to the Franks family.You can read the entire story at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopold_and_LoebThis mansion housed the private school I attended in kindergarten; it looked very different then, its buff-colored brick blackened with years of coal soot. The home's nursery, retrofitted with fluorescent lights, was our kindergarten classroom. I'm glad to see it's being renovated. Its future is probably assured by the fact that it's just west and south of the Obama residence. |
