| 説明 | Having finished with the Odeon, we move on to the next stop- the Prytaneion. The pillar you see here is part of it. The Prytaneion was where religious ceremonies , official receptions and banquets were held. The sacred flame symbolizing the heart of Ephesus was kept constantly alight in the Prytaneion. The construction of the building dates to the 3rd century B.C, during the reign of Lysimachos, but the ruins of the complex dates to the Augustan age. I tried a spot of framing here, not that it's anything great, but I haven't had the chance to do much framing since my HK trip in 2012. (Ephesus (Efes)/ Selcuk, Kusadasi, Turkey, Nov. 2014) |
