It celebrates the centennial of the unification of Nice with France in 1793.The bronze statue depicts a winged victory statue that gives oath of allegiance. The marble group is a nice allegory of Nice giving itself to France.On the front of the pyramid are the dates 1793-1893 and below 1860. The memorial is therefore intended to commemorate not only the 1793 unification, but also the 1860 one. |
