| 説明 | It was the night of November 14th 1940 when the City of Coventry was virtually destroyed. The Luftwaffe [damn their eyes] attacked in a raid which was later described as "the most severe in the whole history of World War II".The bombing began at 19.20hrs and did not cease until dawn. The all-clear was finally sounded at 0615 GMT. In later years when the RAF and the USAAF bombed cities in Nazi Germany, they used the words ‘Coventration bombing’ to described this gratuitous blanket bombing attack. |
