説明 | King Mountain, at 5,265 feet, has been designated by the Bureau of Land Management as an Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC). Many ACECs are created to help preserve diversity of plants and animals and protect areas with a unique habitat or feature of national significance. The King Mountain Rock Garden ACEC has been established to protect two sensitive plants found within this 90 acre area, the Siskiyou Missionbells (Fritillaria glauca) and the Umpqua phacelia (Phacelia verna). An abundance of other wildflowers, wildlife viewing, spectacular views, and the unique terrain make this a great area to explore. Spring is the best time of year to visit the ACEC when wildflowers are in full bloom.www.blm.gov/or/resources/recreation/site_info.php?siteid=369 |
