| 説明 | Paro, Taktsang Goemba (Tiger's Nest)Paro Taktsang is the popular name of Taktsang Palphug Monastery (also known as Tiger's Nest), a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and temple complex, located in the cliffside of the upper Paro valley, in Bhutan. A temple complex was first built in 1692 at a cave where Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) meditated in the 8th century A.D.Legend states that Guru Rinpoche flew to the site atop the back of a tigress and meditated in the cave for three years, three months, three days and three hours in order to subdue evil demons residing within it. The cave has been considered a sacred site ever since and many famous saints have travelled to meditate in it. Padmasambhava is credited with introducing Buddhism to Bhutan and is the tutelary deity of the country.
