説明 | Introduced, perennial herb 10–40 cm tall. Taproots are fleshy and stems are hairless to hairy. Basal leaves form a rosette and are oblong in outline, 5–15 cm long, 15–30 mm wide. The margins are toothed, sinuate to pinnatifid, base narrowed to a broad-winged petiole-like base, and lamina are hairless to hairy (hairs on lower surface of midvein). Cauline leaves (if present) are similar, sessile and reducing upwards. Heads ( 4–10 mm wide) are solitary on branched stems. Florets are ligulate and white. Fruit are achenes with a slender beak and a pappus with 1 row of plumose bristles. Flowering is mostly in spring, but also summer and autumn. Grows in disturbed areas and lawns. |
