説明 | Introduced, cool season, annual, erect, hairy herb to 45 cm tall. Stems have few to many and ascending. branches. Leaves are opposite, becoming alternate along the stems, sessile, narrow-oblanceolate to spathulate, 20–65 cm long and 2–10 mm wide; margins are entire and surfaces densely hairy. Flowerheads are scorpioid cymes. Sepals are linear, 4–6 mm long and becoming much longer in fruit. Petals 5, are fused into a tube 6–7 mm long, white to cream and with hairy ridges running from the stamens to the throat. Mericarps 4 are warty, about 4 mm long and grey. Flowering is in spring. Found in disturbed areas, such as this one on a dirt heap in a developing housing estate in Tamworth. |
