| 説明 | Well, after purchase, I was able finally to find an MTF chart for the lens. (normally, I find these before purchase, but this is very rare info, and I could not pass up a great chance to buy a lens in top condition). Difficult to compare MTF to other lenses as most report their scores at f8, not f4. Max scores are achieved at f8, so I would expect higher and flatter curves for 40 lp/mm. The distortion (verzeichnung) is -1% (this means 1% barrel). For those who know MTF, imho these curves are among the best and confirm the reasons why the Zuikos were so highly regarded back in their day. Of course, MTF is not the entire story of a lens, but it is objective data at the least. Unfortunately, this chart does not indicate which generation of lens (I am told the 5th gen is the best for this lens). I hope others may find this useful. |
