説明 | At the National Tramway Museum in Crich.The Museum started in the 1950s / 60s when most of the old tram networks in the cities of the UK were being closed down.The Tramway Museum Society was formed in the late 1940s when the decline began and they started to purchase the trams, track etc.The Crich site came to the attention of the society in the late 1950s. They later purchased the site.A look around the Tram Depots.Metropolitan Electric Tramways 331 from 1930.Metropolitan Electric TramwaysFeltham prototype, with centre entrance doors instead of end doors. This did not suit London's conduit system, so it was sold to Sunderland in 1936 to become No.100. Restored funded by British Steel, and appeared in a BS blue livery at Gateshead garden Festival in 1990. Known by enthusiasts and staff as MET 331, or by its original name of "Cissie". |
