It was commissioned in 1375 by Louis I, Duke of Anjou and brother of King Charles V.The tapestry took seven years to make which is quick for a work of this size. It is made entirely of wool and originally comprised six tapestries measuring 6 metres (19.7ft) high and 23 metres (75.5ft) long. Each piece starts with a major figure followed by two rows of seven scenes between a strip of sky and strip of earth.These pictures are only a small part of the tapestry. |
