説明The sign on the left is another little gem from Haringey Council.Friday 12 September 2014, at 6:39pm, in the Tottenham Hale North Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ). Which was two weeks after the last "Next Event" shown. So could we park? Perhaps. Because although the CPZ already operates for a standard money-grubbing 10½ hours a day, seven days a week in that area, on "event days" it's an extra 1½ or 2 hours. "Event days" refers to football games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium about half-a-mile (850 metres) to the north. Unless controlled, our streets can become used as a free carpark by spectators. Was 12 September an "event day"? The out-of-date sign suggests it was not. On the other hand, we weren't sure. And one thing drivers want is clarity and certainty about when they can and can't park, without worrying about incurring a massive fine. Okay, I know it's called a "Penalty Charge". But everyone knows it's really a fine - and a profit-making tax on motorists. (Even some local councillors who have to pretend otherwise.)_______________________________§ Photo of the Zero Gravity Toilet instructions from the film "2001: A Space Odyssey".
