| 説明 | St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox on 5th and Gold St in downtown Juneau, Alaska, was established in 1893 through the efforts of local Tlingits and funds raised by subscription.As the photo shows, the church was under renovation when I visited in July 2014. According to an information board near the church it suffers from two main problems; one is the moist climate, causing its structure to rot, the other is that the church isn't secured to its foundation causing it to sleep and be a potential threat to houses below as it could roll down the hill in the event of an earthquake. |
