| 説明 | Albany, Western Australia.The statue in the foreground is the ANZAC Desert Mounted Corps Memorial, a duplicate of the original statue erected in Suez in the 1930's.While there has been plenty of focus on the centenary of the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli, to take place in 1915, less well known is that a commemorative event will be held in Albany in October/November this year. This event will mark the 100th anniversary of the departure of the first convoy of ships carrying ANZAC troops to the First World War. |
