| 説明 | The famous author of A Clockwork Orange Anthony Burgess was an English novelist, poet, playwright and composer born on February 25, 1917 in Manchester, he now has a foundation in his name established for the promotion of arts journalism. The judges are: Mariella Frostrup, Stuart Kelly, Helen Oyeyemi, and Robert McCrum from the Observer and Will Carr from the Burgess Foundation. In 2013 the winner was Roger Lewis.About 40 years ago Private Eye paid me £6 for a piece of Burgess's journalism which I had the temerity to submit to Pseuds Corner! The only "journalistic" payment I have ever received, and frankly I now feel a bit tawdry about having done so, apologies Anthony. |
