Everett Williams, the executive officer of 1-21st FAR, holds the colors during an inactivation ceremony held at Fort Hood, Texas June 12. The 1-21st FAR first stood up June 1, 1917 at Camp Wilson, Texas. During its 97-year history, the battalion was awarded nine citations or commendations and has seen combat in WWI, WWII, the Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
