説明 | Amtrak California # 2009, an EMD F59PHI, starts pushing a Capitol Corridor out of the Emeryville train Station in Emeryville, CA. Taken by a Nikon D610 at ISO 400 with a Nikkor 20mm ƒ 2.8 AF-D lens. It's very unusual for a Capitol Corridor to be double headed, as this one is, as there are no heavy grades on the route - # 2009 may be dead-in-consist with only # 2006 (see next shot in photostream...) actually supplying power to the train (or vice-versa, I suppose...) Whichever locomotive is dead, the repair is beyond what the Amtrak CA shop in Oakland, CA can fix, so the loco is sent to Sacramento, which has more extensive shops than Oakland. (located in the former Southern Pacific Sacramento shops...)Both # 2006 and # 2009 have been re-engined with the 710ECO prime mover. |
