| 説明 | On 6 June 1968, former Prime Minister and long-standing Labour MP, Walter Nash, was honoured with a state funeral in Wellington. The images above come from a photographic album transferred to Archives New Zealand by the Department of Internal Affairs.Walter Nash was Prime Minister of New Zealand from 1957 to 1960. After defeat in the 1960 election Nash remained MP for Hutt until his death in 1968. Archives New Zealand holds the papers of Walter Nash. Many images from the Nash papers have been digitised and are available to view in an online exhibition archives.govt.nz/events/walters-world-nash-collection Notable items in the collection include images of Nash and Indian Prime Minister Nehru and Nash meeting Australian Prime Minister Robert Menzies.
